The scooter’s enchanting flight
I wrote this poem for a school assignment, needing to combine something I love with fantasy. I had to change the subject to female to maintain the rhyme scheme, but I actually like how it turned out. I wish there were more girls who rode scooters; it’s not something we see often where I live.
My poem:
In twilight’s embrace, where shadows dance and weave,
A scooter gleams, a steed for dreams to leave,
Two wheels whisper,
A symphony untold,
An invitation to adventures bold.
With a push and a glide, the world starts to blur,
The wind a companion, the road a guide for her,
Each corner turned,
A new path revealed,
As secrets of the city are unsealed.
Sunlight paints the streets in hues of gold,
The scooter dances, its spirit uncontrolled,
A joyful hum,
A rhythmic delight,
As freedom takes its exhilarating flight.
Through bustling markets, where colors ignite,
The scooter weaves, a dazzling, vibrant sight,
A playful twist,
A graceful sway,
As laughter fills the air along the way.
Beneath a canopy of stars so bright,
The scooter soars, bathed in the moon’s soft light,
A whispered sigh,
A gentle breeze,
As magic fills the air among the trees.
But as the journey nears its end,
A wondrous sight, a twist fate did lend,
The scooter halts,
Transforming with grace,
Into a winged creature, ready to embrace.
With newfound wings, it takes to the skies,
Soaring above, where dreams harmonize,
A scooter’s flight,
A magical scene,
A testament to where it has been.
And as the scooter fades from sight,
Leaving behind a trail of shimmering light,
A whispered promise,
To return once more,
When adventure calls and dreams implore.
